If you happen to walk down a particular street of down town you will stumble upon a blue and red sculpture garden. I very much like days were I turn a corner and find art waiting for me, thank you Santa Barbara for making this possible. Once you find the sculpture garden, if you turn around and walk across the street you will run into the library which I highly recommend -another thing to thank Santa Barbara for.

Please someone explain what is happening here. I was innocently walking through a parking structure and come across this; a GMC with a kidnapped tree in the back. The mafia is driving GMC’s apparently.

I’m not sure why but I have always had a fondness for the number 27, I also very much like turquoise and metal work. All three are in this door frame so I figured I’d take a picture of it.

Foggy, Foggy Sunday 09-13-09

I was down by the harbor this evening and loved the yellow tint that the fog gave to everything. Fog is just too much fun, it makes lights glow and hair get frizzy and its much easier to sneak up on people. If I didn’t love rain so much fog might just win my award for the most fun weather.

It’s been a little while since I have had some flowers on here. These ones can remind us all that messy can be beautiful.

Why didn’t I ever think of that? So much fun packed in one window. I love it!

I was walking to the post office for work today… something I do pretty much every single day. But today I noticed a scrolly gate. I like scrolly gates so I stopped to look at it and then I noticed that there were things hidden in the scrolls like this bird. How have I never noticed this amazing gate before? I’ve taken multiple pictures for Dilly Dally on this street before but until today missed this one.

I guess that this should be a lesson that there are always new things to find even in your own backyard.

Some friends of mine decided we should go out to dinner tonight. The food was amazing and they had a fun fountain in the outdoor seating area. It was quite a fun evening. I loved the lighting of this shot.

So many people were out of work for various reasons today that there were 5 empty parking spaces in a row (if we are all here they are all full).

So I decided to take up as many spots as my little tiny car could manage, just because I could.

When you add glass to a narrow depth of picture things get really exciting, at least for me.

This picture was taken with my DSLR as you can tell by the depth of field (foreground in focus background blurry). I’ve said it before but I love narrow depth of field!

The Old and New 09-04-09

I enjoy finding spots where people have found ways to reuse old things in a modern way. Europe is very good at this. When I was in Edinburgh, “New Town” was built in the 1700′s but the city felt extremely hip and modern.

Ever since that trip I’ve been on the look out for places that are updated without losing the history of the site. This building caught my eye today – on one side a modernist Mondrian style front and on the other weathered, aged bricks. Love it!
