At my last birthday (I turned 26), my friend had me make a list of 26 goals for the year. One of them was to write more letters.
My mission is to make letter writing the new, hip, vintage thing to do. It’s going to be all the rage, tell your friends.
Beauty in the Mundane 07/19/09

This is the sidewalk outside of my house. I have walked on this sidewalk at least 3 or 4 times almost everyday since March – and this is the first time I’ve stopped to take a picture of it.
Stop and look around you – what things have lost their beauty just because you are so used to them being there?
This is the main reason I take so many pictures when I’m on vacation (usually at least 1500 or so per week). One can see the beauty of something other much faster than one can see the beauty of something of the everyday.
Blissful Saturday 07/18/09
Today was quite a day. I became a brunette and a dear friend of mine popped into town for a quick fix. This friend, my new do and I headed to Butterfly Beach for a lovely afternoon picnic.
This is another one of those spots in Santa Barbara that is photographed so often that the real challenge is coming up with an original way of doing so. I’m still not there – but I’ll keep trying.
