The Girl Behind the Camera

I’m using this project to sharpen my artistic eye.  Knowing that you are keeping tabs on me is what is going to keep me going when it feels more like work and less like fun (as every good thing does from time to time).

A few random tidbits about me:

1. I like to name inanimate objects

2. I live in Santa Barbara and am very aware of how lucky that makes me – if I ever complain about anything feel free to slap me across the face and remind me of this.

3. I love metal, glass, light, trees, and hanging things.

4. I’m seeking ways to make art a larger part of my daily life.

5. I’m still learning and would love your feedback

6. I love to dream and don’t spend nearly enough time looking at the clouds

7. I have a new secret obsession with comic books

8. I can’t whistle

9. I can play the xylophone and the djembe

10. I like odd numbers much more than even numbers

11. I’ve never had braces

12. I LOVE to travel :)

13. I don’t have any trips planned for this year yet, I should work on that

14. You can follow me on twitter at Julesfaas

15. My last name is Dutch, thanks for asking.

16. I can speak 23 (ish) words of Russian

17. I really really want to have my own glass studio someday – maybe a foundry too, we’ll see.

18. When I was little I wanted to grow up to be the toothfairy.

19. I highly recommend you read “You Shall Know Our Velocity” by Dave Eggers,  I can recommend some others once you’re done with that one.

20. I’ll keep adding to this when I’m in goofy moods

21. But I’ll always end on an odd number (see #10)

Ta ta for now :)
Muah!
